Jeff Bridges' self-titled album is due for an August 16 release on Blue Note Records.
T Bone Burnett produced the album, which includes contributions from Nashville-based musicians Russ Pahl and Dennis Crouch and from ex-Nashvillian Rosanne Cash.
Jeff Bridges includes several of the Oscar-winning actor and musician's compositions, as well as two songs from the late Stephen Bruton. Songwriters John Goodwin, Greg Brown and Bo Ramsey also provided material.
Bridges and Burnett met in 1980 on the set of motion picture Heaven's Gate, and they worked together on the soundtrack for the movie Crazy Heart, co-writing (with Ryan Bingham) "The Weary Kind," which won an Oscar for best original song.
